Kinloch Wilderness Retreat is a special lakefront spot where our guests enjoy a unique and stunning location with recognised historic significance. We’re well known locally with many wedding and function groups coming from the Otago / Southland areas, but also organise weddings for many overseas couples travelling to New Zealand.
If you have visited Kinloch Wilderness Retreat before you will have a good idea of how we operate. If it’s been a while since you stayed, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what’s changed. If you haven’t been before we recommend that you come out to meet us and have a tour around our site.
A wedding to remember
We have a reputation for hearty food, a great selection of wines and guests regularly comment of the helpfulness of our staff.
Our sumptuous menus for groups of 12 or more cover informal BBQ and buffet options through to formal canapés and sit down meals; smaller groups can enjoy our a la carte menu. All dietary requirements can be catered for.
Let us remove some of the stress from your planning by making suggestions to suit your preferences and advising on suitable wines and beverages to compliment the meal. We charge wine only by consumption and will happily order in any special favourites, or if you wish to bring your own we charge corkage fees per bottle.
We can accommodate an intimate affair or a grander day, with up to 70 comfortably seated across our restaurant and marquee. With all our experience you’ll be in good hands for your magical day; we ensure excellence to fit any budget.
Wedding night accommodation
EcoScapes are just next to Kinloch Wilderness Retreat and offer the chance to indulge in our stunning view with outstanding comfort. Relax after all the excitement in the exclusive spa pool for EcoScapes guests, savoring the view under the stars. If you’re too wired to sleep make use of the in-room projector connected to Netflix and AppleTV, or the bluetooth sound system. Enjoy a gourmet breakfast in bed, on the terrace, or join your guests in our restaurant.

Wedding package for 2 nights, prices vary during the season, please contact us for a direct quote for your date preferences:
26-27 season – $17,800 – $21,300
27-28 season – $17,800 – $23,430
Prices are based on hiring all Wilderness, Heritage and EcoScapes accommodation, exclusive use of the restaurant and non-catered facilities for the duration of the stay.
An extra charge applies if you will not be using our dining options. All admin and setup time is included in the rates quoted.
Please note we are not accepting bookings beyond April 2028 at present whilst we plan a rebuild of the Wilderness area. Once a firm plan is in place we will update the website.
